🎯 About the Role

VSO Ethiopia is recruiting Project Facilitation Officers for the iWork program, financed by the Mastercard Foundation.

The program aims to create internship opportunities for 24,000 financially disadvantaged young people, with a primary focus on young women, while also supporting persons with disabilities, refugees, internally displaced people and returnees.

The officer will coordinate training, workforce development, internship readiness, work-based learning, mentoring and employment-transition activities in the assigned cluster.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Conduct workforce and skills-gap assessments.
• Assess the capacity of TVET institutions, Local Service Providers and host enterprises.
• Design and deliver market-aligned training and internship-readiness programs.
• Support youth-led development pathways and career guidance.
• Refine curricula, training manuals and learning materials.
• Facilitate soft-skills, employability, entrepreneurship and communication training.
• Coordinate technical skills training with TVETs, educational institutions and industry experts.
• Coordinate work-based learning, on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring.
• Facilitate Training of Trainers (ToT) programs.
• Track registration, training delivery, learner progress and internship readiness.
• Monitor training quality and host-enterprise engagement.
• Organize career fairs, job-matching events and employer engagement activities.
• Build partnerships with TVETs, employers, government agencies, youth/women groups and community organizations.
• Contribute to reports, case studies, lessons learned and program reflection.
• Provide regular implementation updates and recommendations.
• Coordinate with consortium partners and other Project Facilitation Officers.

🎓 Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills in:

• Education Management
• Development Studies
• Business Administration
• Human Resources Management
• Economics
• Social Sciences
• Or another relevant field

💼 Experience & Skills

Candidates should have relevant experience in:

• Training program management
• Workforce development and employability
• Youth and women's skills development
• TVET or related programs
• Training needs assessments
• Curriculum and training-material development
• Training delivery and evaluation
• Mentoring and learner follow-up
• Blended or digital learning
• Working with TVETs, government, private-sector employers and communities

Additional competencies:

• Strong facilitation and communication skills
• Coordination and reporting
• Problem-solving and organizational skills
• Digital skills
• English and relevant local-language proficiency
• Understanding of gender transformation, inclusion and safeguarding
• Ability to travel frequently to field locations, woredas and stakeholder sites
