Job Description
The Branch Accountant is responsible for managing branch-level accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial recording, maintaining compliance with financial policies, and supporting branch operations through proper financial management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records at branch level
- Prepare periodic financial reports and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and institutional policies
- Support daily financial transactions and cash management
- Assist in internal and external audit processes
- Monitor financial performance and report discrepancies
Required Qualifications
- BA Degree in Accounting from a recognized higher education institution
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as an Accountant in a financial institution
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Computer literacy is mandatory
- Experience in core banking systems is highly preferable
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Integrity, accountability, and professional conduct
