Job Description

The Branch Accountant is responsible for managing branch-level accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial recording, maintaining compliance with financial policies, and supporting branch operations through proper financial management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records at branch level
  • Prepare periodic financial reports and reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and institutional policies
  • Support daily financial transactions and cash management
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes
  • Monitor financial performance and report discrepancies

Required Qualifications

  • BA Degree in Accounting from a recognized higher education institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as an Accountant in a financial institution

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Computer literacy is mandatory
  • Experience in core banking systems is highly preferable
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Integrity, accountability, and professional conduct
