Geotechnical Engineer : CCECC Ethiopian Branch

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main contact for geotechnical engineering coordination.
• Conduct and review geological surveys, soil data, and technical reports.
• Support subgrade and foundation design based on geological conditions.
• Provide on-site guidance for geological investigations and problem-solving.
• Develop treatment solutions for challenging ground conditions.
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO and ERA standards.
• Support professional design activities and project requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 6 years in geotechnical engineering.
• Experience in geological surveys and adverse ground treatment is preferred.
• Proficiency in geological and survey software.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO and ERA standards.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Chinese language knowledge is an advantage.
• Valid Ethiopian professional engineering license.

Additional Requirements

• Ethiopian nationality.
• Familiarity with Ethiopian laws, regulations, cultural practices and ERA requirements.
• Knowledge of regulations in the project areas, including Oromia and Somali regions.
• Age: 25–48 years.
• Physically fit and able to work at project sites.
• Good stress tolerance, flexibility and teamwork.
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
• Ability to comply with quality, safety and environmental requirements.
