Job Description
The IT Technical will support the hospital’s IT infrastructure by maintaining hardware, software, network systems, and digital health platforms such as EMR and HMIS. The role also includes troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring data protection, and assisting the technical maintenance department in IT-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Support
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
- Provide technical support to staff both onsite and remotely.
- Troubleshoot network, printer, and connectivity issues.
- Maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure and internet connectivity.
Systems & Security
- Support email systems and user account management.
- Assist in maintaining servers and backup systems.
- Ensure regular system backups and data protection.
- Install and maintain CCTV and security systems when required.
Health Information Systems
- Support EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and HMIS systems.
- Assist in data processing and system maintenance.
Maintenance & Projects
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and report to the Head of TMD.
- Support IT engineers on technical projects.
- Escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Maintain proper documentation of IT equipment and systems.
Work Environment
The role is based in the hospital’s Technical Maintenance Department (TMD) and involves maintaining and repairing IT systems using specialized tools and equipment. The IT Technical reports directly to the Head of the Technical Maintenance Department.
Job Requirements
Education
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience
3–5 years of relevant work experience in IT technical support or system administration.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routers, switches).
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Hardware maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with EMR systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of server management and IT certifications is desirable.
- CCTV installation experience is beneficial.
